TiviMate APK: How to Install It Safely on Fire TV and Android TV

What is the TiviMate APK?

An APK is the install file for an Android app. People search for "TiviMate APK" when the app doesn't show up in their device's app store, or when they want to install it on a Fire TV Stick or an Android TV box directly. It's a player only: it shows your channels and TV guide, but it doesn't come with any channels of its own.

Get it from an official source

Whichever way you install it, take TiviMate from the developer or your device's official app store:

  • Android TV / Google TV: search for TiviMate in the Google Play Store on the device.
  • Fire TV / Fire Stick: search for it in the Amazon Appstore on the device first. If it isn't listed for your model, use the developer's official download page and the Downloader app (steps below).

Why to avoid random APK download sites

Many sites offer a "TiviMate APK", "TiviMate Premium unlocked" or "MOD" version. It's tempting, but it's the most common way people end up with a problem:

  • Malware and adware. A file that has been re-packaged by a stranger can contain anything, and a TV box has access to your home network and accounts.
  • No updates. Copies that aren't from the developer don't update, so bugs and fixes never reach you.
  • It often just breaks. "Unlocked" versions tend to stop working after an update, or stop loading your playlist.

If you want the paid features, pay for them in the official app. It's inexpensive, safe and supported.

Installing on Fire TV when it isn't in the store

Only follow this with the developer's official download link.

  1. On your Fire TV go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer options and allow installs from unknown apps for the Downloader app. (On some models the setting is under Install unknown apps.)
  2. Install Downloader from the Amazon Appstore.
  3. Open Downloader, enter the developer's official link, and let the file download.
  4. Choose Install, then Open.
  5. Turn the unknown-apps permission back off afterwards.

Add your login to TiviMate

  1. Open TiviMate and choose Add playlist.
  2. Pick Xtream Codes and enter the server URL, username and password from your StratosPlay email. Prefer a link? Choose M3U playlist and paste the M3U link instead.
  3. Wait a minute while the channels and guide load.
